Partially age and relative wealth. Those are interesting because in theory that is coming for all of us in the future.
So what else is it? Hopefully the other stuff is different enough to save us from the same fate. Or maybe we'll all be just like them some day. Remember that they are the generation that were the original hippies.
I know their younger selves would be disgusted by who they are today. You can see it in the cognitive dissonance of things like yelling freedom while cheering on ICE.
I can also see that they are completely incapable of seeing good for society or good in the long term. Only good for me and only good today.
I sat down with one once and showed the math. How many of their children and grandchildren will die of cancer and heart disease. How many will get murdered. They were barely phased for a moment before back to but we need more police because crime is bad. That is pure lost cause level in my book.
